Abstract

Esse artigo aborda a experiência do Programa de Incentivo à Inovação Tecnológica (PII) como mecanismo de aceleração do empreendedorismo acadêmico, por meio do estudo de caso da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Enfatizam-se os vínculos entre oferta científica e tecnológica da Universidade, medida por artigos publicados e depósitos de patentes, e potencial de empreendedorismo acadêmico. Destaca-se a necessidade de aprimorar os mecanismos de geração de inovações e empresas de base tecnológica de origem acadêmica e transferência tecnológica com base em experiências pioneiras como a do PII de Minas Gerais.
