Escolhas de carreiras universitárias e mercado de trabalho: uma análise da influência dos incentivos econômicos

O trabalho tem como objetivo analisar em que medida incentivos de mercado de trabalho influenciam as escolhas de carreiras dos candidatos às vagas na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, no vestibular para acesso a esta no ano de 2009. Com base em um amplo banco de informações a respeito do universo de candidatos e da estimação de parâmetros de modelos econométricos de múltipla escolha (logit condicional e mixed logit), os resultados indicam que as escolhas dos candidatos são afetadas positivamente pelos níveis de rendimento e pela participação das carreiras no emprego total de nível superior e, negativamente, pelo desvio padrão dos rendimentos. Tais influências permanecem significativas nas regressões mesmo após a inclusão de um grande conjunto de variáveis com características pessoais, familiares e do ambiente social dos indivíduos.
