O impacto do desastre ocorrido em Maceió sobre a atividade econômica de Alagoas
Abstract
Este estudo investiga o impacto do desastre de Maceió, que causou a subsidência do solo em 5 bairros da capital, sobre a atividade econômica de Alagoas. Para tanto, utilizou-se a metodologia de controle sintético, comumente usada em avaliação de impacto de desastres naturais na esfera econômica. Foram estimadas duas curvas contrafactuais, uma considerando todos os estados e outra apenas com os estados do Norte e Nordeste. Os resultados do primeiro exercício sugerem que o valor adicionado de Alagoas foi, em média, 4,3% menor do que teria sido caso não tivesse ocorrido o desastre, no segundo a perda foi de 2,5%.
