Programa Criança Feliz: uma avaliação de impacto sobre indicadores de violência escolar
Abstract
The hypothesis of this study is that, by working in an integrated manner with the family, strengthening family ties, the actions of the Programa Criança Feliz (PCF) help to make students less aggressive and more patient and respectful, contributing to the reduction of violence in schools. Thus, the objective of the study is to measure the impact of the PCF on indicators of school violence among schools located in municipalities that joined the program for the 5th and 9th grades of elementary school. To this end, the innovative methodology of instrumented differences in differences (DDIV) is used. The results indicate that schools in municipalities that joined the PCF have lower indicators of school violence. It should be noted that the magnitude of the coefficients is greater in milder cases of violence and with greater impact for the 5th grade. The results remain robust in placebo tests and different samples.
