Abstract

The differences in Brazil are reflected in the way people live and live, and racism is one of the structural and constitutive mechanisms of Brazilian society. As a consequence of the hierarchies, there is a societal model that produces social and economic inequality historically. In this scenario, Pedro Jaime describes and analyzes the professional trajectory of two generations of black executives from São Paulo. It is a socio-anthropological reflection on the issue of racism and diversity in the business world, through biographical narratives and ethnography. Although executives have not always identified racist experiences, it has been observed that they have developed defensive strategies. Jaime touches on several tensions still latent, such as the essentialist ideal, the limits of managerial technologies and intersectionality, seen as differentials between the effective promotion of equity or its simple simulation within the organizations.
