Abstract
This article aims to report a case study of the verification of efficiency indicators Operating Room Effectiviness (ORE) and Makespan in a hospital in Minas Gerais – MG. The methodology used was the literature review and case study. As a result, the ORE and Makespan values of the hospital rooms were calculated and analyzed, and countermeasures were suggested to improve operating room operations and data analysis. The Makespan indicator helped during the investigation of the validation of the time and loss data that define the ORE, in addition to helping to better visualize the availability of operating rooms and their use. This article contributes by bringing a case study that demonstrates the use of indicators to score countermeasures, in addition to presenting the need for knowledge about indicators beyond their calculation, since it is necessary to base knowledge on the organization's culture so that the measurements and, consequently, the indicators are consistent and capable of assisting in quick and accurate decision-making.
