RETRATO DA EDUCAÇÃO PERMANENTE EM SAÚDE ENTRE TRABALHADORES DE SAÚDE EM HOSPITAIS UNIVERSITÁRIOS

Abstract

Objective: To analyze continued education at a University Hospital Complex. Method: This exploratory study utilizes both qualitative and quantitative approaches supported by the data analysis of 1,373 health workers active at the UFPA’s University Hospital Complex between 2014 to 2020. Theoretical foundation: The National Policy of Continuing Education in Health outlines the strategies to be implemented in order to further contribute to the ongoing improvement of standards of health practices and processes. Results: the importance of capacity building was identified as a strategic action for improving work practices. It was further identified that health workers want the communication and dissemination of training courses offered to be improved upon, as well as the extension of vacancies throughout all professional categories. The Continuing Education in Health practice is essential to improving and maintaining the quality of healthcare work. Conclusions: the findings suggest expanding upon the provision of training courses to all categories of workers. Strategies must be outlined to encourage the administrative sector to implement training practices from the perspective of a process of integrative and continuing education with transversal effects across various sectors of the hospital environment.
