Exportações diante de barreiras tarifárias e não tarifárias: uma comparação entre os países da América Latina e as economias desenvolvidas
Abstract
This article estimates the effects of tariff and non-tariff costs on exports, comparing two groups of countries in the period 2001 to 2017: emerging markets in Latin America (EMLA) and the most advanced economies in the world (EA). Using an empirical structure of panel data, the analysis reveals that an increase in non-tariff costs leads to a negative effect only on EMLA exports. By isolating the effect of the increase in tariff costs, both EA and EMLA have their exports reduced, with the impact on the latter group being twice that of the former.
