Impact of Agroamigo on the Quality of Life of Benefited Families
Abstract
The article aims to verify the impact of the Agroamigo Rural Microcredit Program on the quality of life of benefiting families. To achieve this end, Quality of Life Indexes were constructed from the combination of information contained in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) and the Agroamigo database provided by the Microfinance and Rural Miniproducers Environment of Banco do Nordeste. The control group was defined using propensity score matching, and the impact was estimated using the Difference in Differences model. The results point to a positive impact on the living conditions of the benefiting families, mainly due to the changes that occurred in the areas of education and income.
