The PERFORMANCE INDICATORS IN ONCOLOGY ASSISTANCE UNITS OF THE SUPPLEMENTARY SEGMENT

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to identify the performance indicators used in private institutions in the oncology segment of the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro. Method: the present work follows the methodological triangulation by the use of multiple methods. Theoretical foundation: the Performance Measurement System allows companies to control, measure and plan their performance based on defined strategies. Results: the UA1 assistance unit presents 56 indicators, including assistance, financial and maintenance perspectives. The UA3 care unit has 27 indicators, focusing on the profile of the patient undergoing treatment, production indicators and clinical outcomes; there is only one indicator that refers to the financial issue. Finally, the UA2 care unit has 13 indicators and has a profile focused on the patient and the unit's production. Conclusions: Research results showed that SMD are guided by production indicators and treatments performed, billed and received through units that are verticalized.
