PLANEJAMENTO ESTRATÉGICO DO HOSPITAL DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO VALE DO SÃO FRANCISCO:

Abstract

This work aims to understand the impacts of the implementation related to the 1st and 2nd Strategic Master Plan (SMP) of Hospital Universitário do Vale do São Francisco (HU-Univasf) during the period of 2017 to 2020. Thus, a case study was applied with document analysis. Quantitative and qualitative variables were used to analyse the results achieved and the data were available in the public domain on the HU-Univasf website. Indicators were evaluated over the period, as well as the average execution of strategic actions. In addition, there are much more significant improvements in the years 2017 and 2018, the period of the 1st SMP and with the highest results in the conclusion of actions and activities; the 2nd PDE had a lower conclusion rate during the years 2019 and 2020 and some indicators showed negative results mainly due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2020. This study showed how the implementation of a strategic planning impacts positively the care and services provided to patients, showing the need for hospitals to invest in strategic management.
