PERFIL DE UTILIZAÇÃO DE ANTIMICROBIANOS PROFILÁTICOS EM UM SETOR DE QUEIMADOS DE UM HOSPITAL DE URGÊNCIA E EMERGÊNCIA DA REDE PÚBLICA DO ESTADO DE MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the profile of use of antimicrobial (ATM) prophylaxis in burned in the biggest center of burns in Latin America, located in João XXIII Hospital. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study from calls recorded from February to October 2020 in a tertiary state hospital specializing in burns. ATM evaluated according to the following parameters: antimicrobial prescribed; route of administration; use of forecast; indication; conducting microbiological study and sensitivity. Results: 191 ATM were analyzed, and, the most prescribed piperacillin + tazobactam were 44, 42 Colistimethate, 29 ciprofloxacin, cefepime 25 and 25 meropenem. Of the analyzed 100% were prescribed intravenously. The prediction of use, lasting for 119 24 hours 44 48 hours 14 days 16, 7 and 5 with a single dose 10 days. For indication, debridement of burns 63% and 37% were for skin grafting. 64% of antimicrobials were not made microbiological study, 35% had and 1% did not have information about this data. The most frequent bacteria were: 19 baumanni Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa 11. Conclusion: Although the eradication of the infection is almost impossible, the use of prophylactic antibiotics can contribute to reducing the rates of infection and mortality in burn centers.
