USER EXPERIENCE IN HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract

The objective of this investigation is to verify, through systematic review, what is the present research scenario about user experience in health organizations. The search was made in May 2019, at Pubmed, Willey, Weab of Science, Scopus, and Bireme databases. The keywords used were ‘Health’, ‘Environment Design, ‘Hospital*’ and ‘Patient*’, and the inclusion criteria applied were: only scientific articles in English and published in journals between 2009 and 2018. 74 articles were selected after a triage, which was grouped into six classes: target groups, research centers, published journals, publication evolution throughout the years, fields of application, and most recurrent keywords. It was noticed that a relevant part of the studies had greater application at user experience in specific processes and environments inside the organizations. This lack of scope of the system as a whole makes it impossible to understand the patient’s complete journey inside the institution. Furthermore, it was possible to perceive an increase of research in this area over the years, indicating more interest in user experience inside health organizations.
