As a method, a systematic review was performed withsearches, without time delimitation, in the SCIELO ElectronicLibrary,  and  18 articles were analyzed in depth. The main results  showed that:  (a) a pandemic causes changes in diet, delimitation of physical activities, immunological changes,  increased negative feelings and psychological consequences; (b) the population has experienced not only a health crisis, but also a political crisis, with significant financial changes and increased rates of domestic violence; (c) mental disorders arise from the influence of multiple factors, and consequently can arouse this mental suffering; (d) different good practices may contribute to maintaining mental health and reduce psychopathological symptoms during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
