TECNOLOGIA DA INFORMAÇÃO E CONTEXTO DA SAÚDE: ANÁLISE DE CASO EM UMA PRESTADORA DE SERVIÇOS DE PLANO DE SAÚDE SUPLEMENTAR

Abstract

The present study analyzed the importance of information technology in the provision of services in a provider of supplementary health services in the State RN. In order to achieve this, the following objectives were elaborated: Importance in the investment in training of employees; investment spent for IT training; level of use of computer equipment; degree of satisfaction of managers and degree of administrative satisfaction. Thus, this research is based on the assumption that efficient use of information technology can contribute significantly to the company's results, directing its strategies and considering competitiveness. To carry out this study, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used as methodology to verify the efficiency of the systems and methods used by the company. The data were analyzed taking into account IT resources, the importance, dependence and use of the equipment and how they contribute to the performance of the company. The research was conducted through a questionnaire, applied in the period from 08/08/2017 to 07/08/2017. 41 forms were collected. The result revealed how much IT is dependent on IT, how IT influences bottom line. It also revealed the importance of training investments, management satisfaction, and other IT staff, even in need of process improvements and more IT investments. It is clear that IT drives companies to achieve their goals, but that for this it needs to be strategically aligned with the interests of the company, so that it remains sustainable and competitive.
