Crédito ao consumidor: uma avaliação dos primeiros anos do Plano Real
Keywords:
consumer credit, qualitative choice models, Real Plan.Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss some effects of Real Plan’s on credit as well as the profile of the borrower during this period. After the adoption of the Real Plan it was observed an increase in the duration of the contracts, from 3 months in January 1995 to 36 months in August 1996. The implicit nominal interest rates remained high though. It is still possible to conclude that personal characteristics are less important than characteristics of the credit itself. Therefore, the value and the number of the installments seemed to be the main determinants of the probability of default just after the adoption of the Real.Downloads
