Abstract

This article was written to pay tribute to the work and life (in life) of Professor Alexandre de Pádua Carrieri. To this end, it uses the knowledge of African matrix religions to construct a metaphor, establishing a comparison between the work of the honoree and the characteristics related to the Exus. In this way, Alexandre de Pádua Carrieri is referred to in this article as Exu Ale Krrieri. It can be said that his work opens up the paths of organizational and management studies by bringing new possibilities for understanding organizations and the field of organizational studies, breaking with the hegemonic narrative of the functionalist neoliberal tradition, re-signifying the object and field of action of organizational and management studies with the concept of organized social life, highlighting the importance of ordinary and common man in the always incomplete and unfinished processes of organizing. In this way, his work allows us to (re)think organizations and organizational studies, emphasizing the importance and presence of social issues as the main object of analysis in organizational studies.
