Abstract

Our article presents the thematic dossier of Farol – Organization Studies and Society Journal about the relations between state actors, the market, especially corporations, and civil society around social and environmental conflicts in territories that are marked by mining activity. The articles that make up this edition are presented based on a small balance of studies on corporate social responsibility, intersectoral relations (between state, market and civil society), corporate crimes and social and environmental conflicts. The advances and challenges in terms of the development of critical and engaged investigations in contexts marked by significantly unequal power relations and by the struggles for corporations' accountability to the crimes and systematic actions of social and environmental irresponsibility that they practice are pointed out.
