ORE'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO COMBAT COVID-19 IN SURGICAL CENTERS

Abstract

This article aims to identify the possible contributions of the ORE (Operating Room Effectiveness) efficiency indicator to combat Covid-19. The bibliographic research method was used, analyzing existing materials, and exploratory because it is a study on a subject of little knowledge. As results, examples of the application of the ORE indicator in hospitals were cited, and the importance of the indicator is in conjunction with the Lean Healthcare philosophy, demonstrating the need for improvements in the management of Surgical Centers, thus contributing to this time of pandemic through the guarantee of provision of services with quality, safety and availability of beds. Also collaborating for the financial area, as allocating resources to what is necessary, it avoids waste and provides profits. And it also helps for scientific knowledge, as the results may serve as a basis for consultation in future work.
