Abstract
The standardization process aims to reduce costs and optimize the use of resources. The objective was to analyze the standardization activities of hospital medical material from HUfocal and propose a structural flowchart for standardization of materials. It is a descriptive, documentary research with a qualitative and applied approach. Institutional documents and interviews with members of the material and medication standardization commission and material management were used. The panorama of the standardization of materials and procedures carried out by the medication standardization committee was analyzed; purchases and material standardization actions at HUfocal; perception of the standardization process of those involved in the supply process; standardization of materials in other hospitals that have a standardization commission. The proposal contributed to activities aimed at optimizing standardization and acquisition, as well as complying with Law No. 8,666/1993. It also to demonstrate that standardization in public procurement can actually fulfill its purpose, generate efficiency, in addition to being seen and recognized as a routine and dynamic procedure.
