CORRELAÇÃO ENTRE COBERTURA DA ATENÇÃO BÁSICA E TAXA DE IMUNIZAÇÃO: EVIDÊNCIAS PARA AS CAPITAIS DO NORDESTE.

Abstract

Primary health care and the family health strategy gained strength from the creation of the Unified Health System - SUS and were gradually expanded through the municipalities' adherence. These are policies that aim to ensure greater proximity to the populations involved, welcoming their needs and defining strategies with an epidemiological basis. This article seeks to analyze the existing correlation between primary care coverage and immunization rates in the state capitals of the northeastern region of Brazil. For this, a descriptive, exploratory and documentary study was carried out, using data available in the information systems of the Ministry of Health, DATASUS and the e-Manager AB from which the variables relating to the coverage of basic tension, coverage was collected. of the family health strategy, the rate of immunization and vaccination dropout from the period 2016 to 2019. As a result, it was found that in the cities evaluated there is a low correlation between the coverage of primary care and the rate of immunization. However, in municipalities where primary care was more present, the rate of dropout from the vaccination program was lower. This shows a negative correlation between the two variables and reinforces the importance of the search by the municipalities for full coverage of the program for users, facilitating access to services and, especially with family health strategy teams, for actively seeking people who started vaccination programming in order to comply with the immunization protocol.
