Abstract
This article aims to verify the determinants of the use of technological innovation in hospital environments. For this, a descriptive research with quantitative method was performed. The data collection instrument consists of 43 questions grouped into the following factors: compatibility, result demonstration, experimentation, ease of use, image, relative advantage, visibility, voluntary use and outcome of use, with Likert type answer statements of 5 points. Data were collected from healthcare professionals using electronic medical records. 132 valid questionnaires were obtained. For analysis we used the statistical technique of multiple linear regression. The main results indicate that the compatibility of the technology with previous knowledge of the user, the possibility of trying the technology before its effective use and the visibility are determinants or motivators of the use of the electronic medical record. The results suggest a reflection on investments in user education and training as a way to minimize the resistance generated from the introduction of new technologies.
