FRAMING HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE COMPLEXITY OPTICAL: THE CASE OF A HEALTH REGION IN ALAGOAS

Abstract

The complexity theory has been considered to explain relations in the administration, especially in the area of public health, where the existence of complex entities and relationships is almost visceral. Thus, we sought to understand how the set of relationships established between health information systems is structured and framed in complex concepts, with the purpose of assisting, post-framing, the activity of making communication and management efficient in this field. The results ratified the predicted chaotic aspect, and a Complex Information System was mapped out from the co-evolution, coadaptation, fractal, self-organization, and emergence relationships, and, as such, could allow the manager to understand the dimensions of inefficiency and even articulate optimizations towards the desired informational output.
