RESPONSABILIDADE SOCIAL E BENS PÚBLICOS GLOBAIS: UM ESTUDO SOBRE UMA GRANDE CORPORAÇÃO NO BRASIL

Resumo

Muitos estudos sobre estratégia de responsabilidade social (ERS) no Brasil atribuem uma perspectiva voluntarista de ação às grandes corporações do Norte na solução de problemas no Sul, desconsiderando que o argumento‘borderless world’  reforça e reproduz interesses associados a uma agenda de bens públicos globais (BPG), em detrimento de importantes atores do Sul. O presente artigo apresenta uma perspectiva crítico-pluralista para desafiar esse argumento centrando-se no conceito de agência. O estudo da agência de uma grande corporação norte-americana na formação da ERS problematiza a interação de seus gestores locais e ‘globais’ junto a atores no Brasil. Métodos processuais e históricos foram utilizados pelos pesquisadores para: (a) revelar a co-determinação da agência pelos níveis microindividual, mesorganizacional e macroestrutural; e (b) problematizar um determinado viés de ação em ERS. Por fim, são discutidos os reflexos da formação de ERS para governança e destacadas questões de economia política de BPG.
